Getting Ready for Treatment

 

What to Bring

  • Clothing for a week (laundry is available). All Items will go through a high-heat dryer at admission.
  • Limit one piece of luggage, plus one toiletry bag.
  • Personal items, toiletries (alcohol-free).
  • A 30-day supply of current medications in original containers. Vitamins must be unopened. NOTE: Daystar Recovery Center does NOT cover prescription co-pays.
  • Smoking/chewing tobacco is allowed outdoors only. Vapes are NOT allowed at Daystar.
  • A small amount of soda and snacks are allowed. We will store them in the staff office.
  • No bigger than 32” TVs are allowed.
  • Outdoor clothing and footwear.
  • Contact Information for family, doctors, employers, probation officers, therapists, legal representatives, social workers, etc.

Common Admissions Questions

What are the visiting hours? There is no visitation for the first week, but normal hours are: Saturdays & Sundays 1:30 pm – 5:30 pm & Wednesdays 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
**Please note: Visitors are limited to only 4, family/SO. Only counselor-approved visitors. (maximum of 4, not including children). A parent or guardian must accompany underage visitors. All visitation is held in the common rooms. Visitors cannot bring purses, bags, cell phones, etc., into the building during visitation and must show a picture ID.

Can I make and /or receive calls? We have a client phone but also allow personal cell phones here in the evenings.

Is there a dress code? Clothing is expected to be comfortable, appropriate, and respectful of others and the treatment setting. No apparel that represents drugs or alcohol, sexual content, violence, intimidation, intolerance of diversity, or could otherwise be offensive to others. No exposed undergarments or private parts. No sharing of clothing. Shoes must be worn outside the bedrooms.

Are there exercise facilities available? We go to the local community center twice a week but there is also an elliptical, treadmill and small weights available for use after business hours..

Are there private rooms? There are no private rooms.

Can I do laundry? Laundry facilities are available at no charge.

Is smoking allowed? Cigarettes and chewing tobacco are allowed outdoors only in designated areas. No Vapes are allowed.

Do I need to bring money? Depending on your health plan coverage, you may need money for copays, deductibles, or prescriptions. No other money is required; however, you should bring a small amount for cigarettes and other personal needs.

Can I receive mail or packages? Do not forward mail to this address. However, while in treatment, items may either be brought to the facility during visitation time only or may be mailed to:

Contraband List

Any items containing alcohol within the first four ingredients.
Items such as hair spray and body wash, etc. If you need more clarification, read the ingredients or ask the staff.

Weapons
Items such as guns, knives, screwdrivers, or anything that could cause physical harm.

Medications & vitamins
All medications must be kept in the medication cart. This includes over-the-counter supplements, protein powders, and prescription medications.

Other items

Drug paraphernalia Craft supplies such as Exacto knives
Vapes/E-Cigs White Out
Cameras Tools of any type
Computers Inhalants such as glue, paint, Scotch Guard, Sharpie
Scissors Any aerosol items
Pornographic materials Needles

Any devices with capabilities other than music

Clients should make arrangements to have these belongings removed from the facility.

Until these can be removed from Daystar Recovery Center, they will be labeled and stored in a secure location.
