Daystar Recovery Center House Rules and Expectations
Housekeeping
- Residents are expected to keep bedrooms clean. Room inspections must be passed prior to approval of pass/visit requests or group recreations.
It is the client’s responsibility to keep living areas clean and free of personal items and perform chores as assigned. - Burning of candles, incense, herbs, etc. is not allowed.
- Clients may do laundry from 7 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
- Daystar Recovery Center is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Hours
- House quiet time/lights out is 10:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m. Sunday – Thursday and 11:30 p.m. -7:00 a.m. Friday and Saturday. (Quiet time definition = Clients in rooms and television off.)
Phones/Mail
- All mail is retrieved and sorted by staff.
- If you receive a package, it must be opened in the presence of a Daystar Recovery Center staff member and is subject to search.
Televisions
- Televisions are provided in common areas for use after programming and weekends.
- The content of programming should not contain nudity, excessive foul language, and/or violence.
Meals
- Daystar Recovery Center will provide meals. Please dine at the tables provided. Food is not allowed in living rooms or bedrooms.
- Clients will assist in cleanup on a rotation basis with staff supervision.
- Clients will not be allowed to purchase their own “meal” items, i.e., steak, lobster, or other extravagant items.
- Daystar Recovery Center does not allow energy drinks or drinks that have excessive amounts of caffeine, i.e., Red Bull, Monster, Rock Star, Liquid Ice, or espresso drinks.
Nicotine Products
- Smoking and chewing are allowed outdoors 15 feet away from buildings. Please place cigarette butts in the receptacle provided. Dispose of chewing waste into a grocery sack, place it in the garbage can, and wash your hands. If any client is interested in being set free from nicotine addiction, see the Medical Technician for support.
- Smoking, vaping, or chewing are not allowed in any Daystar Recovery Center vehicle.
- Vapes/vaping is not allowed in Daystar Recovery Center.
Leave and Visitors
- All passes and visitor requests must be written on the Pass/Visitor form and turned in by Wednesday 12:00 p.m. for Treatment Team approval. UNSCHEDULED VISITORS WILL BE TURNED AWAY.
- Anyone dropping off items for you must come to the main office and give them to staff, between the hours of 8 AM – 4 PM Monday through Friday.
- Clients must check in with on-duty staff upon return from pass. Personal belongings will be searched, and UAs and/or PBTs will be completed.
- Visitors are allowed in designated common areas only.
- Clients are responsible for their children’s behavior while visiting.
- The Treatment Team will consider pass requests 30 days after admission.
- Clients are required to “sign in and out” whenever leaving the premises.
- Visitors are allowed as approved by staff between the hours of Wednesday 7 p.m.-9 p.m. (with form submitted by Monday at noon), Saturday and Sunday 1:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. (with form submitted by Wednesday at noon).
*Note: Failure or refusal to comply with House Rules may result in discharge
